You will encounter problems with other games otherwise that require the default hooking. Caveat: Only try the alternative hooking method in case of issues and switch back afterwards. Aside from reboot, if I hook into another game, for example Portal 2, MechWarrior 5 will then hook once again without reboot. VorpX does show the hook attempt after that first time, but it never completes.
